Workplace Morale Workshop

Human beings yearn for deep satisfaction and happiness.

The difference between a workplace where individuals and teams flourish, compared to that where they languish is profound.

Understanding the cause and effect nature of leadership reduces the likelihood of leaders being sidetracked by symptoms when seeking to enhance morale. Workplace morale can be strategically and intentionally impacted.

This workshop is a core training offering.

What this workshop will teach you?

Provision of an understanding of:
  • the cause and effect nature of leadership behaviours
  • workplace morale and its impact on the capacity of individuals – teams and organisations to flourish
  • the Flourishing and Languishing Triangles as a framework to support participants to not only better understand emotional responses to challenging situations, but have the capacity to more effectively optimise a positive emotional response to enhance performance and wellbeing.

Who is this workshop for?

All staff within the organisation

Feedback Workshop

Opportunities for learning and development are key to enhancing workplace morale. A culture of feedback makes a powerful contribution to learning, maximising growth, enhancing relationships and improving clarity. This contrasts sharply when a culture of blame is evident. Blame stunts growth and causes relationships to be fractured and increases the likelihood of a ‘Red Triangle’ coping response and associated behaviours, having a significant negative impact on morale.

This workshop is supported by tailored mentoring and coaching post the workshop, to assist individuals and teams to develop their feedback skills and importantly act on them.

What this workshop will teach you?

Provision of a set of explicit concrete skills enabling:
  • construction of the language of feedback
  • delivery of feedback
  • receipt of feedback

All done in a manner which is ‘Blue Triangle’ – calm, confident, future-focused, open to learning and supportive

Who is this workshop for?

All staff within the organisation

Meetings Workshop

The quality of the ‘meeting experience’ can have a significant impact on workplace morale. The difference in emotions experienced between meetings which have clarity of purpose; effective engagement protocols and a focus on learning and those which do not, can be profound.

The former will maximise the likelihood of a ‘Blue Triangle’ emotional coping response – the latter being a common cause for the adoption of a ‘Red Triangle’ emotion focused coping response with its associated negative behaviours – often elevating levels of distress.

This training session is supported by tailored mentoring and coaching post the workshop, to assist individuals to refine their execution of the skills needed to plan for and conduct successful meetings.

What this workshop will teach you?

  • Provision of a set of specific, concrete protocols and strategies to be incorporated into meetings – all driven by a clear set of underlying beliefs and guiding principles.

Middle and Senior Leaders

Coaching Protocols Package

The development of staff enhances their capacity to positively contribute to the organisation.

Staff who are stuck in a ‘Red Triangle’ emotion focused coping state; possibly abrogating responsibility; hoping to be rescued potentially blaming others or circumstances for their plight, can lead to a state of learned helplessness and have a negative impact on morale.

Coaching is a skill designed to support others shift from an often understandable, ‘Red Triangle’ paradigm, to a ‘Blue Triangle’, problem focused coping state with an emphasis on what’s next / what can be done to address a situation.

This workshop is supported by tailored mentoring and coaching, to assist individuals to develop their coaching skills.

What this workshop will teach you?

Provision of an understanding of:
  • the objective and central principles of the coaching process
Provision of a set of explicit concrete skills enabling:
  • application of a discrete process to support a person to adopt a future – solution focus outlook
  • the intentional use of targeted questions to enable the above process

Who is this workshop for?

Suitable for all staff, particularly valuable for Middle and Senior Leaders

Leading from Values & Beliefs Protocols Package

There is often a tension between what is stood for and current reality, as demonstrated by existing practices.

Identifying and leading from values and beliefs:
  • gives direction to actions
  • increases capacity to achieve what is at the heart of an organisation / its purpose
  • inspires
  • provides clarity
  • reduces cynicism
  • reduces the likelihood of reacting to external trends which may be misaligned with core beliefs
  • increases the potential for new initiatives to be aligned with core beliefs

If you supplement identified values and beliefs with guiding principles you provide a catalyst for such to be acted on, as well as preventing values and beliefs merely being warm and fuzzy statements that are ultimately meaningless.

This workshop is supported by tailored mentoring and coaching post the workshop, to assist individuals to: (i) refine their skills in developing policy and practices from core values and beliefs and (ii) to lead from this perspective.

What this workshop will teach you?

  • an understanding of a conceptual framework which aligns observable workplace practices with underlying values – beliefs and guiding principles
  • a skill set to:
    • differentiate between values – beliefs and guiding principles
    • construct the language of underlying values – beliefs and guiding principles
    • identify if current practices or new initiatives align with identified values – beliefs and guiding principles

Coaching & Mentoring.

Coaching & Mentoring Services

Leadership is intensely rewarding. It is also hard and risky business as it often challenges entrenched beliefs about how things should be done and puts others outside their levels of comfort. Leadership can be a lonely business as others take aim at leaders for the pain they may be experiencing as change takes hold.

Consistent with his underlying ‘Why’ Pete’s desire at Ethical Leaders is to provide mentoring and coaching support for a singular purpose. To support leaders to be their best, so they, in turn, can foster the development of those they lead.

What this service will provide?

The nature and scope of mentoring and or coaching provided by Pete will be determined by the unique circumstances and needs of individuals and their organisation.

  • Mentoring for individuals or teams, drawing on the application of knowledge, skills, strategies, and protocols central to the Ethical Leaders approach to leadership, specifically:
    • the importance of leading from a clearly identified ‘Why’
    • the intentional application of skills designed to take the drama out of workplace relationships and support development
  • Individual coaching to support leaders to identify solutions to the inevitable conundrums all leaders face in leading people
